#ASSETTO CORSA DLC PACKS FULL#
In the afternoon the time had come: we went back on the track to ride the Vallelunga in full length. The inventors of traction control and the automatic limited slip differential really did a great service to mankind, especially those who had previously driven far less safe models than our test cars and couldn’t handle them as well as necessary. We were actually quite good and always fell by the wayside if we suddenly skidded, thanks to the advice our mentor had given us, but especially thanks to the electronic components built into these vehicles. When he then acted as training director, we tried to tease as much information out of him as possible, but he led us straight to the test track in wet conditions with our helmets in hand to see how we could cope with high accelerations on wet surfaces, and to be able to assess our ability to react in emergency situations. The performance problems on Xbox One and PS4, but also the future development steps, require additional workers, which is certainly welcomed by everyone.

As for development, Stefano confirmed that converting the PC version to consoles had proven to be quite tedious, and that Kunos Simulazioni had to hire additional staff for the increased support needs for the next builds. The headquarters will remain above the pit lane. The development team will soon be moving to the vicinity of the track, as the working conditions are better there. Kunos’ plans for the future are also quite interesting. There are also a lot of updates parallel to those for the PC version.

When asked about the current state of development, he once again confirmed what we already knew: The patch series for the console version is almost complete, but support will continue for the next few months. Stepping on the gas on a machine with 420 hp and absolutely superior handling feels absolutely safe at all times and you can take corners with ease thanks to the rear-axle steering.Īfter we had familiarized ourselves with the racing cars, it was time to meet Stefano Casillo, the head behind Assetto Corsa. The first impression of the sports version of the 4S (a little more robust than the one in the showrooms) was fantastic. It was much more a matter of grabbing a helmet and jumping into one of the Porsche Carrera 911 4S with four-wheel drive and doing a few laps to warm up on the Vallelunga ‘Club’ course.

There wasn’t too much time for politeness, however. We were also able to exchange ideas with members of the Porsche development and marketing team throughout the day. We could choose between different types on the short route, then on the artificially irrigated route and finally on the entire route. The great weather conditions also contributed to the success of the event (actually rain was predicted), it was absolutely perfect. In addition, there was a group of training leaders who were supposed to reveal the secrets of driving these racing machines with over 400 hp to the visitors. The selection of vehicles was not as large as we were used to from previous versions, but the entire team from the Italian Porsche Driving Experience had come from Padua with a fleet of Porsche Carrera 911 S and 4S. But we can definitely say that this day was the most successful so far. In order to further strengthen the cooperation with one of the most respected manufacturers in the world, Kunos organized a day on the track with the support of 505 Games, the editorial branch of Digital Bros, which was similar to the previous ones. The first DLC for the PC version has already been available for three weeks and the console version will appear shortly, followed immediately by the second DLC and, until the title is completed, by a whole package of other vehicles.

The partnership with Porsche was presented, which includes around 20 modern and vintage vehicles for the Kunos simulator between the end of 20. After the official release of the game in late 2014 and the console versions last spring, the third trackday event took place in Campagnano di Roma on Friday, November 18th. As soon as Kunos Simulazioni announces a new version of Assetto Corsa, a track day is already on the agenda, punctually like a Mercedes on pole position.

Since we couldn’t go to this event due to lack of time – which hurts us more than anyone else … – here are a few impressions of the Assetto Corsa DLC.įor fans of racing simulations, the Vallelunga has long been an attraction. Here is a report from our Italian colleagues who were allowed to chase a few very expensive cars around corners in the Eternal City. Assetto Corsa DLC Pack – Trackday with Porsche
